When Tariq Ramadan spoke about "seeing from a different angle", he really opened up a new channel to "give" and "receive" in me....I often have "one way" of thinking or perceiving things which happen to me. I often assume something-which is completely ignorant to do.
Instead of assuming, we should find out "facts" and be EDUCATED. This is what will lead us to the ultimate success.
I was listening to a radio show on KPFK yesterday as I was driving. The radio host was African American and talking about the African American women's Anger. How she tends to "internalize" her anger instead of being active and doing something to change her condition.
This is something which we should all try to do. Be more "active" and less "reactive". I tend to be reactive and this is not a good side of the spectrum to be in! Instead of reacting to events that upset me, I need to stop myself, think, analyze, look at ALL possible options from ALL possible DIRECTIONS and then make a move.
If we want something to change, we must fight with LOVE. that is the only way we will SUCCEED.
I heard a lecture that was talking about just this! the lecturer gave a clear example. Imagine yourself: "fighting in a dark room against darkness"....so after few hours of fighting will you win? or will the darkness win? Of course the darkness will win.
All we have to do (to win) is stop fighting, explore alternatives, FIND the light switch! and we win!
In other words, the more love we put out, the more love we receive, and the more hate we put out, the more hate we receive. We almost "BECOME" what we do not want if we fight it with anger. Think about it...
if you scream, your children will scream back. If you sing to them, they will sing back. If you kiss them, they will hug and kiss you back. And so on and so forth, with everything in our lives...We must be smart, fight only with goodness.
So what's your choice?
Everyday God gives us a new opportunity, a new chance to "improve" ourselves, to become perfect and help others attain that perfection. We strive to improve our condition. But how are we doing this? what is our PLAN of success?
We must remind ourselves to use love as our #1 tool. Remind our kids, our husband, our families that we need to be less greedy and more THANKFUL. not always "WANT" but realize that we have enough and we just need to appreciate it more. And if we do not agree or like our condition, take [the right] steps to make it better, seek out experts if need be, be smart in the way we tackle the problem, do not proceed when angry!!!!!
Be proactive.
Make that choice!

On reaching our goals and being aware of "fear"
As we prepare ourselves in a new Spiritual Journey, I thought of reflecting on something really important that is sometimes (many times) the reason why we don't "move". Or "achieve"...our dreams, our goals... The reason we sometimes are "stagnant". Sometimes because of "FEAR" we paralyze and are not capable of moving into whatever dreams/goals we would like to reach.
If our goals are clear and we have developed a system of achieving them, there is no reason we can not accomplish them. Even the most amazing thoughts that we may feel are "impossible" to achieve can become a reality if we do not let anything stop us in our way. If there is a ROCK, we explore the way around it..... We first need DIRECTION and what follows is our own PUSH to make it happen. It will not matter how many blocks are on the way.
There is a series of ways we can get the job done. And by writing things down we can visually see our goals. Sometimes, the more senses we use, the better we "REMEMBER".
1. Set a goal
2. Have a clear DIRECTION and focus towards it
3. Think of the necessary tools to get to your goal
4. write down a plan
5. share your plan and be able to clearly state how you will achieve it.
6. Pray that God makes everything smooth and your path easy
7. DO NOT loose focus or get distracted. ELIMINATE distractions.
8. Reassure yourself that you CAN DO IT and SURROUND yourself with positive people/positive energy.

"The only way to get rid of fear of doing something is to go out and do it..."
"Pushing through fear is less frightening than living with the underlying fear that comes from a feeling of helplessness."
If you do things with LOVE, everything will run smooth and easy but you must remember to first PUT OUT more than what you EXPECT to get back.
It is easy to do something when we get a reward or something in return but it is harder NOT TO EXPECT anything.
When it comes to God consciousness, the more we do for HIM, for HIS SAKE, the more WE end up benefiting because He knows and gives us so much EVEN THOUGH it may appear that at a certain time in our life, "nothing is happening"....it may be that we need time and we need to learn to be "Patient"....so there is a blessing in that, if we understand.
An different example is our parents, they will wait to give us a certain gift until we reach a certain age, otherwise that same gift can be dangerous.
We need to learn to ACCEPT with an open mind and an OPEN HEART and all our goals can definitely be achieved.

A month of Reflection-Ramadan
This coming month will be for me a time of reflection.
I am organizing my month in a way that I will try my best NOT to waste time and to really FOCUS on my most important goals.
I will try to ACHIEVE as much as possible and utilize every minute of the day WISELY!
My goals will be simple but meaningful.
Sometimes I like to think of them as "investments"...because when you invest, you put your BEST effort out knowing that you will receive something at the end (or you hope so)....
I just want to have time to really reflect on what I have done so far in life and how I would like to move on and what I should omit, change, or ignore...
Perhaps I have paid attention to some things and have ignored others.
I need to PRIORITIZE and TIME is the most essential element of SUCCESS.
I have noticed that the most SUCCESSFUL People are the most DISCIPLINED and the most PATIENT I have come to know.
I look up to them as they enjoy their life, live FULLY and Appreciate everything that comes their way. They do not waste time COMPLAINING or speaking ILL of others, they use their mind and tongue in the remembrance of their creator and REMIND OTHERS of HIM ALSO which is very important because they will get reward for doing that....
again, it's all really investing in the future. And our future, our main goal is Paradise/heaven.
So in order to get there, we must WAKE UP and DO as much as we can and put all our ENERGY in the right way, stay in the right path and HOPE that we will get there.

never say "never"
you never know when you will:
-become best friends with your "enemy"
-become pregnant after years of infertility
-be the proud daughter-in-law
-achieve your most wildest dreams
-marry your first love
-start your own company
-have the house you dreamed of
-etc etc etc!
It all starts with a positive outlook in life and shutting your mouth whenever you want to say "I can never do that".... or, "that will never happen"
Never is an absolute and we need to start talking less and doing more, specially with these type of statements.
We only live ONE LIFE and it is a fair opportunity for us to do whatever we want if God wills it and if we put all OUR EFFORT into it.
So never say never to yourself or your loved ones because YOU NEVER KNOW, what one day you considered "done" can flourish and become something else somewhere in your future life.
Leave the diary of your life clean so that you can dream and it can fill itself up with wonderful thoughts, moments, and surprises.
Life, no one really knows and no one can say "this is it", you can always change if you really want to. IT IS UP TO YOU.

yes, you can get what you want!!!!
Everything is possible if you simply pay attention to the "signs" that are out there in nature.
Everything has to do with "timing" and putting your most positive energy in everything you see.
When you do see something beautiful or something you "WISH" you had, be content at that moment and thank GOD for HIS blessings on you. As it may be good at that particular time and place for you not to have that item or privilege but if you pay attention, it will come to you at the right time.
We are humans, we are never satisfied, we always want more. We have one car, we want two. We have a boy, we want a girl. We are single, we want to marry. We live in a house, we want a palace and so on....
Everything happens for a reason and the more you are sincere, the more you are caring, the more you put "OUT" the more it will come to you, it is "karma" if you will, it is something no one really can explain but it happens.
You want=you work toward it=you put your positive energy into it=you will get it AT the right time and IF God wills it for YOU.
So be thankful as sometimes we may get what we want but it may harm us. So in a way, it is best that we thank GOD for the good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful, what we have and what we DO NOT.
God knows everything and we are the ignorant ones.
Sometimes we think we know....we know a mountain because we can see it?
ha! no we don't.
As my teacher says, you CAN NOT see the INSIDE of the mountain, you CAN NOT see the back side or what's on top or whats underneath, you only see one picture (one part of it) and nothing more while GOD can see it all!
It may be that God is like a father....the son reaches to get a knife and the father takes it away. While the child sees it as something fun to play with, the father KNOWS more and knows it is DANGEROUS at this point and time in this child's life. In a similar way, God protects us from what we do not know and we do not understand. Shouldn't we be thankful instead of crying like that child??? If we are ignorant, we will cry. If we are smart and realize God knows more than we do, we would pray, get closer to HIM because that's the only way to achieve ANYTHING and EVERYTHING in life! with HIS permission, with HIS blessing, with HIS POWER.
so yes, you can get what you want but you must:
1. believe it will come to you
2. have patience for the "trial period"
3. Stay positive
4. Don't dwell on it, enjoy other beautiful things in life while you wait
5. ALWAYS be thankful (for whatever you have), do not forget! (it could be worst)
And God LOVES that we come closer to HIM. He is like that father who tries to protect the son. He loves him so much and is always there for him to comfort him and love him and the child only cares about the "toy"....
while today is that toy, tomorrow it will be another item...and so do we ever really learn?
Do we give God a chance? HE ALWAYS gives us a chance, he's always there for us. We need to reach to HIM and He will, as always, PROVIDE.

change? why not!
so, I got "INSPIRED" to start a project of hope. I saw in the "national geographic" magazine, an advertisement for "project hope" founded in 1958 to help people live healthier lives and educate them about diabetes.
With the "hope" in mind, I thought why not start my own project and call it "project ONE" This project has a variety of purposes and here are some of my ideas:
1. Pray to the ONE God (which unites us all)
2. Plant ONE tree
3. Save ONE LIFE
4. SPREAD the ONE and most pure LOVE
5. help ONE charity of choice
6. Sponsor ONE orphan
7. Clean ONE park
8. Write in ONE blog
9. Change ONE LIFE
10. help our ONE PLANET EARTH
11. Read ONE book a month!
12. Donate One time a month (money or items)
13. Dedicate your time Once a week (choose a charity)
14. Write ONE book
15. Educate ONE soul
16. Love ONE community

crushed (poem)
ok so "they won" I give up. I am crushed.
I'm not a super women,
not a super mom,
not a super daughter,
not a super sister,
not a super friend,
not a super entrepreneur
nor a super fundraiser di-rec-tor
I'm just gaby.
I'm just gaby with a broken heart.
Who cares?
who really cares I ask.
Cause last time I checked I didn't get a phone call or a "letter of hope" or a sincere apologetic visit, a poem or a simple smile.
I didn't get a call back or a replied text, it has been like all the rest, simply a test of faith.
All because of greed, power, MONEY and a simple push to the side road, I am no longer needed...
I am no longer a great friend,
I am no longer a human being with thoughts, visions and feelings,
I am now a forgotten soul, and I can care less if that's what's going on,
I rather be who I am and know that Allah is the best and will always be by my side no matter what.
No matter who speaks ill and lies,
No matter who spreads evil or gives no side of reason, no equal ears to hear both sides,
that is clearly the gray side.
No matter who turns away, no matter who accuses you the wrong way,
He will be there for you, defending you, protecting you,
I don't need a crowd, I rather be myself and I-
my family and that is it,
Instead of an ocean of brainless peeps who care all about their greed, their EGO rules them, their power pushes them and they can all do whatever it is they do best, cause they understand and I, I am a single, solo, "un maremoto", I rather sail on my own, stay on my own,
I rather join the "ship of fools" cause they ain't no fools, they know the truth, they know not to be attached to anything in this world,
Stay aboard, stay with their own, stay on the oceans ga-lore.
They will provide, they will sustain and never you will they look for gains.
And I will be fine.

in my eyes I got nothing to blind,
I know the truth, I speak it too!

you will crush them now if they get in your way

pre-pared.

Believe in YOU
Don't let people and negativity enter YOUR LIFE.
You control your life, not the world around you.
Do not let the devil's work come into your sacred space, make it go away!
protect yourself with beauty, with love, with God's Wonder!
We have enough to be thankful and to praise to waste our time looking outside our window.
We need to look more IN and less OUT!
This way we keep ourselves OUT OF TROUBLE and we keep ourselves pure and focused.
Never loose that focus. Whatever it is, it can wait.
Whatever is taking your attention from ACTS OF WORSHIP can sit and wait.
DO not loose that focus because you are allowing yourself to become a LOOSER.
yes, a looser only wastes time, listens to nonsense, BELIEVES what the eyes see and spends where it DOESN'T NEED TO.
Shopping can be devilish...we purchase things we don't need, we waste money in THINGS that will end up in the garbage, we waste time shopping to get a good deal, we move away from inward loving satisfaction to OUTWORD materialistic STUFF, Never achieving an ultimate satisfaction because next year, our car will be out of style, our shoes and purses and sunglasses need a new color and our style doesn't match the runways....
so before you look out your window, praise your creator, thank HIM for the wonders he offers, don't look for things that may hurt you but look and be thankful for what you have, look INSIDE.
And do not believe for one second all that is said to you.
Do not believe something that inside your heart is not in tune with what you consider to be the TRUTH.
Just because you heard it on TV or your parents Told you so, Or you found it printed on a book, you do not need to believe that.
We all have an intellect, NOT A SINGLE person can DENY THAT!
so we should use that brain of ours and figure OUT OUR OWN PATH, OUR OWN TRUTH!

be with the children
We would avoid problems.
We would avoid sins.
We would avoid wasted time.
We wouldn't be classified...undermined...ignored...insulted...made fun of...unappreciated...labeled....ridiculed.....
If we simply be with the children.
We would laugh and play,
stay in tuned with nature and it's mysterious ways,
get down and dirty, very messy, yes!
Let nature take over,
let our love flourish all over
we just need their smile, their laugh,
their innocence at once!
We only need so little and make things so complicated
we simply need the SMALLEST things in life to be happy
All of what we have searched for it is so close by and free
if we simply be with the children.
Our lives would be so full, so busy, so joyful, so funny and so neat
if we stick to our family, our loved ones, our babies, our friends.
Let the children dictate your moves and understand them, listen to them because
they bring a message of HOPE, of PEACE, of what GOD wants us to be.
All we need in our world is a little more UNDERSTANDING and much more LOVE!
All we need is to be a little more like them, feel like them, enjoy like them, love like them, have fun like them!
All our troubles erased, all so easily and at the end of the day, all we need to do is
be with the children.

Love in the air!
Such beautiful times we live in, we should be thankful!
It is amazing to be able to meet such wonderful people with the touch of a finger! Yes, Internet has taken us to a HUGE new level of understanding, traveling, reaching, learning, sharing, LOVING!
Nowadays we can do almost anything we want, go anywhere we wish and we don't even have to get up from our chair!
Let us NOT get lost in the overwhelming information, but let us be ACTIVE and take a STAND and DO something! One of my most precious gifts is discovering such an amazing person as Oprah Winfrey. Yes, good old Oprah. She amazes me every time. Every time I read her magazine or read her articles. She ALWAYS has something amazing to share.
She won't keep things TO HERSELF. She shares information in her articles, her magazines, her shows, she GIVES and that is the beauty of knowing that we are all going to die, one way or another, we can not avoid it. So why we avoid giving? What are we collecting stuff and memories and experiences and NOT SHARING THEM??
That is the power of living today!
You make discoveries, you put them to test and YOU SHARE THEM!
Beautiful.
That's how you really know who your true friends are.
If they share with you their amazing powers and LIVING ENERGY.
I love so many of my friends I probably can't even list them all here.
But a name is resonating in my mind right now, as soon as I started writing the blog today.
Let's not put her full name here just in case. But her name is Diana.
What an amazing person! amazing character and positive outlook in life! I love this beautiful soul. May God always protect her, grant her ALL SHE WISHES and guide her always to the right path. AMEEN!
I must admit, it's hard to NOT write everyone's names here....Another beautiful person I LOVE is Litz. A beautiful friend of mine who is not near me but as if she was...always there for me whenever I'm in trouble or need URGENT advice. She is far in distance but CLOSE by and has proven her friendship TIME AND AGAIN.
May God also always protect her, grant her all she ever wished for, guide her to the right path and comfort her in all ways, ameen!
With friends such as these, life is just so beautiful because any direction you turn (or need to turn) there is someone there to help you, support you, guide you, CORRECT YOU if you need it! Yes, you don't need to be slapped or hit to realize sometimes you do make mistakes. But someone can Correct you in a nice way, using Constructive Criticism and making sure you stay on the right track. Nothing wrong with that.
This blog is dedicated to beautiful people such as Oprah, Diana and Litz who touched my life and keep on being there for me, so much so that I think of them often, I thank GOD for all they share and for being there for me one way or another, when I need them most.
